A number of years ago, I was hired by Carroll County Economic Development to take photos at several prominent large corporates in Carroll County, Maryland. One of those businesses happened to be Shelter Systems. After the shoot, Shelter Systems team member Jason reached out. He was kind enough to order a large collection of photographs from the ED photo shoot, which have adorned their eye-catching website now for several years.
Now an number of years later, Jason Hikel, IT Director, reached out again. They needed a refresh of photography for their website, as well as portraits of their Leadership and Executive Team. I was tickled that the reason they called was because “it was so easy to work with you before… and you did great work for us“.
We split the photoshoot across two dates, first focusing on the Leadership & Executive teams. We took headshots / portraits of everyone. Then we took a small number of group shots – some highlighting the leadership, and some highlighting the family behind the business.
The second shoot, while complete, is not delivered yet. So I will leave this as a teaser for a Part 2 Blog Post… the second shoot focused all out on the shop floor. For a few hours, I captured what happens at Shelter System. Their team manufactures roof trusses (think prebuilt roof parts for residential housing). Cooler yet, just a block from my current home, Shelter Systems is providing the roof trusses for a Habitat for Humanity home, located in Taneytown, MD. That property is slated to break ground this coming Fall 2023. More to come!
