There are some clients I get to photograph once, and others whose stories I get to follow over the course of years.
Velnoskey Wealth Advisors is one of those special ones.
I’ve been photographing Doug Velnoskey and his team for more than seven years now, and somewhere along the way, their annual portrait session became one of those familiar traditions I genuinely look forward to. As their team has grown and evolved, so have the photographs—and this year’s session brought us somewhere particularly meaningful.

We created their newest team portraits inside the beautiful new library space at the Historical Society of Carroll County in downtown Westminster, Maryland.
And this wasn’t simply a beautiful location we picked for the pictures.
A Westminster Location With Meaning
Community involvement runs deep within the Velnoskey Wealth Advisors team, so photographing them at the Historical Society of Carroll County felt especially fitting.

Coleen Kramer-Beal is another incredible force on the team and within Carroll County. She was recently named to AdvisorHub’s Top 200 Women Advisors to Watch for 2026 and received the Life Skills Literacy Award at the Light of Carroll Awards. She’s also the founder and leader of the Carroll County Women’s Conference, another event I will have the pleasure of photographing this coming October 2026.
So when we talk about creating photographs that actually reflect a business, where we photograph can be just as important as how.
The Historical Society gave us a setting that felt timeless, thoughtful, established, and rooted in the community.
In other words, it felt like them.
More Than an Updated Team Photo
Over the years, I’ve photographed the Velnoskey team in several beautiful locations around Carroll County.
One of my favorites was our session at Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, where we worked both inside the historic mansion and throughout the grounds. Their annual portraits often arrive at just the right time to become part of their holiday greetings, and I’ve always loved knowing that one of our photographs might land in someone’s mailbox later that year.
But even though we regularly update their team photography, the goal isn’t simply to replace last year’s photograph with this year’s faces.
A business changes.
Teams grow. Branding evolves. People step into new roles. The way a company wants to present itself changes, too.
Their newest portraits were intentionally designed to reflect who Velnoskey Wealth Advisors is now: polished and professional, but also warm, approachable, and deeply connected to the people and community they serve.
That’s the sweet spot I’m always looking for in corporate portraiture.
Professional doesn’t have to mean stiff.
Watching a Client—and a Team—Grow
One of the unexpected gifts of being a commercial photographer in a relatively small community is getting to watch all of this happen over time.
Seven-plus years is a lot of photographs.
It’s also a lot of change.
I’ve watched this team evolve, celebrated their accomplishments from behind my camera, photographed them in some beautiful corners of Carroll County, and seen the images we create find their way into marketing materials, websites, holiday greetings, and other pieces of their business.
And I’ve watched the people within the team continue showing up for the community around them.

That kind of recognition doesn’t happen by accident.
It comes from showing up, building trust, and doing meaningful work consistently over time.
Funny enough, those are some of the same principles behind a client relationship that lasts seven years.
I’m incredibly grateful Velnoskey Wealth Advisors continues to invite me back to document the next chapter.
And as for those photographs inside the Historical Society’s gorgeous new library?
Those deserve their own moment.
