Jan and I planned an extended family portrait session for her parents, Carol and Bill. We met up at her brother's property, and Bill took Carol and I for a ride around the property to decide where would be best to take photos. During greatly entertaining conversation, we settled on a private, peaceful little stretch of grass along a creek bank and caught it at the absolute perfect time of day as the sun cast a beautiful warm glow.
Oh, did I mention there were 4-puppy kiddos involved too? Best doggies I've ever photographed - full of life and energy, but they listened really good and posed for me until their Mom & Dad said so. I often like to get my subjects riled up too, so when I said "now just love all over them", tons of doggie-kisses and bouncing commenced!
The girls were amazing, fun, athletic, and incredibly cute too! When taking family or extended family portraits, I always like to work my way down to the kids and try to have a little fun so that the photo shoot, not just the photographs, is a fun memory to look back on too. Should we throw leaves? Heck yeah! Check out the last image at the end of this post... and one of my favorite images in the series... it brings me to full on laughter!!
